Resurrection and the life,

When you met the disciples on the road to Emmaus, they were not alone. They had each other even as they were disheartened. In the context of community, you made yourself known, and you renewed hope. Help me to engage in the Christian community in the sure and certain hope that you are present where the Word is preached and the Sacraments are shared. Let me be present not only for myself and my spiritual growth but also for the sake of others – both within and outside the church. Unchain me from individualistic and self-serving motives that keep me away from my full and active participation.
