A Prayer for the Fourth Sunday of Easter

fourth sunday.JPG

Resurrection and the life,

the imagination of the Pharisees was limited by their narrow understanding of your presence.  They put you in a box and then defended their ‘holy’ container as the only path to you. Resurrected One, as you exited the tomb, you demonstrated that the gate of your love is wide and beyond our human imagination.  You remain a source of life unconstrained. Forgive the Pharisee in me that tries to control your grace and hordes it as a private treasure. Resurrect your love from the narrow confines of my heart so that I might more fully walk out of my tomb as your Easter inspired child.

Through Christ, Amen.
