What is a Faith Team?
Faith Teams consist of a small group of folks who gather in the spirit of friendship with the intent to connect together and with God. It can be a group of adults or teens, parents or singles, neighbors and family members. Light From This Hill has resources for these groups to use called Faith Chats.
Why do Faith Teams gather?
The group, from three to six people, shares a common purpose and is accountable to each other. The FIVE FAITH TEAM INTENTS are to gather together to:
Be present for each other with kindness.
Pray for each other during and between gatherings.
Wonder about God without judgment or correction.
Seek the wisdom of everyone in the group.
Grow in faith, knowing that faith is a journey and not a destination.
Team Lead role
Each Faith Team has a Team Lead. The role of Team Lead is responsible for making sure that the group knows when it is going to meet, has the proper online/phone address/numbers, and greets everyone as they enter the chat. The Team Lead also needs to keep an eye on the clock and make sure that the chat is timely. Team Leads should also pay attention to make sure that no one dominates the conversation. Team Leads act as facilitators to make sure everyone gets a chance to share their wisdom. They do not have to be Bible experts and are NOT expected to teach.
During the pandemic, Light From This Hill is providing these materials free of charge. There is an accompanying daily devotional series that is also offered without cost.
