A Prayer for the Forty Sixth Day of Easter

Resurrection and the Life,

As you called Lazarus out of the tomb, so you call me out of the places where the stench of death overwhelms.  You call me to leave behind my biases and prejudice. You call me to leave behind my fears and suspicions of those who are different.  You call me to leave behind everything that dehumanizes and negates life. You call me to leave behind all the ways that I act counter to your love and grace.   You call me to leave behind the ways of the tomb for the brightness of a new day. You beckon me to go out into the light of your love. Give me the courage to follow your voice and ways as you lead me into resurrected life.

Through Christ, Amen.
